At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Huawei announced that its mobile devices would be able to access the 5G via its Huawei Balong 5G01 chip. It allows a download of 2.3gbps. Given the size of the chip, it is unlikely that it is on mobiles on the other hand but rather on hotspots. It took $ 600 million to invest in network technologies that will most likely be used by autonomous cars or smart homes. Huawei manufactures networking equipment and indicates that it will be the first company to offer a global offer from A to Z in 5G via its network, its devices and the capabilities of its chipsets.
It's a big competitor to Intel and Qualcomm. Qualcomm has also announced its Snapdragon x24 earlier this month that should help the arrival of the 5G pending the arrival of faster networks. Last year Intel announced its 5G modem for connected objects such as drones or cars and announced this week its collaboration with Microsoft, Dell, HP and Lenovo to install on laptops by 2019.
The 5G will revolutionize mobile networks. In the United States, major mobile operators have reported that national coverage of the network can be expected by 2020 in 5G.
