While ads have been growing around external graphics card cases in recent years, products are struggling to be available, especially at attractive rates.
But Top Achat has just referenced a GeForce GTX 1060 signed KFA2 exploiting technology Thunderbolt 3 Intel. It has 6 GB of memory and comes in a case whose dimensions are 165 x 156.5 x 73 mm, for 1.38 kg. The set is relatively compact, the power supply being external.
The cooling is provided by two fans located on the top of the unit, three heat pipes being in contact with the GPU. The connection is rather basic: no USB ports on the program, only a trio DP, DVI-D, HDMI.
Price of the beast: a little less than 430 euros, all the same. However, it remains close to the price of a GTX 1060 with 6 GB only at the dealer: 360 euros in the best case, against 285 euros for the first GTX 1060 with 3 GB. It is especially always more affordable than the XG case ASUS station 2 which is displayed at 600 euros … without a graphics card.
